CFF “Innovate” Award
On May 24, 2007, Helix Charter High School was recognized for its “Innovation” in Geographic Information Systems education. The Classroom of the Future acknowledges students and programs throughout San Diego County.
Cox Communications sponsored this $5000 Award and presented this award to the Helix team.

Student Recognitions
April 16, 2007 - Ten 1st year GIS students were recognized at the Division I Awards Night at the Ray and Joan Kroc Center.
These ten students piloted a Careers Online Module created by San Diego State University. They learned about the many facets of GIS technology through a variety of careers and “real world” experiences. As a culminating project, they wrote essays describing all they learned. Grossmont Union High School District - Innovative Educators Award
December 14, 2006 - Garry Wilcox and Paula Ann Trevino were recognized by the Grossmont Union High School District School Board and Superintendent as outstanding “Innovate Educators” for the month of November 2006.
